Please note that we have received numerous calls from the Public regarding person/s purporting to be from Sol Plaatje Municipality.
They would request a client to pay R3500 into a bank account because they have allegedly tampered with their prepaid meters. If this is not done, then they would threaten to block/ disconnect electricity supply.
PLEASE NOTE : THIS IS A SCAM. THE MUNICIPALITY WILL NOT REQUEST YOU TO PAY MONEY INTO ANY PRIVATE BANK ACCOUNT.
THE MATTER HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE POLICE
