COVID-19 INFO
As of today the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 088 889.
The cumulative total of tests completed to date is 6 706 231 with 46 913 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.
Regrettably, 288 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 92, Free State 9, Gauteng 39, Kwa-Zulu Natal 29, Mpumalanga 6, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 111. This brings the total deaths to 29 175 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers that treated the deceased patients
The total recoveries are 897 704, representing a recovery rate of 82,4%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 02 JANUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 174 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 25 750 people. This is a notable decrease compared to 262 new cases that were reported on the previous day, 01 January 2021.
In today’s report, ZF Mgawu recorded the highest new positive cases (54), followed by Pixley Ka Seme (42), Namakwa (38), Frances Baard (27) and JT Gaetsewe (11); while 2 cases are unallocated.
Sadly we report two (2) new deaths due to COVID-19 related complications that occurred in the last 48 hours, both from Dawid Kruiper LM, ZF Mgcawu district. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications stands at 392.
We convey our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases stands at 2 285 in the Province.
The number of recoveries increased to 23 071 with the recovery rate of 90%.
