‘Companies take billions from the people’

In a letter to the DFA, Damons accused De Beers and other major mining companies of exploiting the people of Kimberley for more than a century, saying that despite claims of attempting to rejuvenate the local economy, these “mining giants’ were detrimental to the general population and only enriched a select handful of people.
