Afternoon Water Interruption – SUSPENDED

DAYTIME WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – 13:00 TO 17:00 – SUSPENDED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

The municipality hereby informs residents that the Daytime Water Supply Interruption – 13:00 to 17:00 – has been suspended with immediate effect.

Nightly Water Supply Interruption

It will remain in force from – 21:00 to 04:00 – until further notice.

Riverton Water Treatment Works and Newton Reservoirs

* For the past week, production at Riverton Water Treatment Works has been at full capacity, producing an average 102 megaliters daily.

* There’s been a significant improvement in reservoir levels amid the implementation of the daytime and nightly interruptions.

Newton Reservoir Levels

* Reservoir 102 megaliter = 80%
* Reservoir 91 megaliter = 64 %
* Reservoir 45 megaliter = 83 %
* Reservoir 23 megaliter = 92 %

Please continue to conserve water aswe are battling high temperatures and the resultant above normal demand.

IMPLEMENTATION OF DAYTIME WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION

Cause: In an effort to replenish our reservoir levels at Newton Reservoirs, the municipality will effectively implement a Daytime Water Supply Interruption with immediate effect:

Time: 13:00 to 17:00

Withdrawal of the daytime will be announced at an appropriate time.

Nightly Water Supply Interruption

Will remain in force as communicated:

21:00 to 04:00

The withdrawal of the nightly water supply interruption will be announced at an appropriate time.

Reservoirs Levels

* Reservoir 102 megaliter = isolated
* Reservoir 91 megaliter = 40 %
* Reservoir 45 megaliter = 90 %
* Reservoir 23 megaliter = 92 %

Residents will be kept updated on the reservoir levels and related developments
