UPDATE 3 – DAY-2: POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – A PORTION OF NEWPARK
The Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently working to restore power supply in parts of Newpark after a prolonged blackout.
* Current Solution: The Electrical Department is implementing a temporary fix to provide relief by conducting final fault repairs on the main distribution cable.
* Permanent Solution: Further work will be done next week to permanently repair the last fault.
* Affected Streets: Mc Gregor, Truter, Reservoir and Law (+- 30 households.)
The municipality apologises for the inconvenience and appreciates your understanding as we work to restore power supply.

UPDATE 2 – DAY-2: POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – PARTS OF NEWPARK
Our Electrical Department confirms that the restoration of power supply to about thirty (30) households in Newpark is underway this morning.
Progress: Three faults detected on the main distribution cable.
Reported Newpark streets; Mc Gregor, Truter, Reservoir and Law.
Ongoing Repair Work: Testing for fault repairing. This will also involve trenching in order to open faults, followed by actual repair work and restoration of power supply.
We regret the inconvenience, and are assuring residents that work continued until late last night.

UPDATE: 14 MAY 2025 – 19:00
ALERT: POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – PARTS OF NEWPARK
The Electrical Department is still working on restoring supply to about thirty (30) households in Newpark.
The team only managed to gain access to the affected residences after 16:00 to work on the meter boxes as a safety measure.
Reported Newpark streets; Mc Gregor, Truter, Reservoir and Law.
Course of Action: Testing for fault repairing. This will also involve trenching in order to open fault.
