COVID-19 INFO
As of today (04 May 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 586 148.
The number of tests conducted to date is 10 739 813. Of these 24 040 tests were conducted since the last report.
Today, 59 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 7, Free State 3, Gauteng 21, Kwa-Zulu Natal 4, Limpopo 20, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 1 and Western Cape 3 which brings the total to 54 511 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 509 656, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 04 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 106 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total is now standing at 40 594 people.
Frances Baard continues recording the highest daily cases, today reporting 66 cases, followed by JT Gaetsewe (19), ZF Mgcawu (12), Pixley ka Seme (6) and Namakwa with 2 cases while 1 case is unallocated. In today’s reported cases, 57% of Province new cases occured in the Sol Plaatje LM, the Province current epicenter.
Today there was one (1) newly recorded COVID-19 related death that occurred in the Pixley ka Seme district. The Province total cumulative deaths currently stand at 901.

The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 748.
There were 201 people reported to have recovered from the disease, this includes recoveries from the previous months due to delays in reporting. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 35 943 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
