TODAY IS NATIONAL ROAST SUCKLING PIG DAY
The National Roast Suckling Pig Day is a food-related observance recognised on December 18.
It is a perfect occasion to cook a fancy meal for your family or friends. A suckling pig is a piglet not yet weaned from its mother. In culinary contexts, it is a piglet slaughtered between the ages of 2 and 6 weeks. Its meat is tender and pale with an unusual texture therefore it is considered a delicacy. A suckling pig is traditionally roasted whole until its skin is crisp. It is typically prepared for special occasions.

As of today, 17 December 2020, a cumulative total of 892 813 COVID-19 cases have been reported with 9 126 new cases identified since the last report.
A cumulative total of 6 011 235 tests have been completed with 42 543 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, 184 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 103 , Free State 4, Gauteng 11, Kwa-Zulu Natal 8 and Western Cape 58.
This brings the total deaths to 24 011.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health workers that treated the deceased.
Our recoveries now stand at 780 313.
