Update 22:12 –
The initial repair work is almost done, but after the water supply is turned back on the repaired area has to be checked for leaks. If any leaks are found, the water supply has to be turned off again, to make further repairs possible..
Currently the Sol Plaatje Municipality cannot give an estimate time when the water supply will be restore, but the personnel on site are doing their best to ensure that Kimberley’s resident will have water by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Please be advised that the Coupling has arrived for the repairs at the 700mm pipe at the intersection of Builtfontein and Long street.
Preparations are presently been done before the water supply will interrupted at 16h30 today, so that water in the network should reduce and welding be done.
These preparations are being done to reduce the time of the interruption in supply and we have no option as some high buildings in the CBD are currently experiencing low pressure.
It shouldn’t take long as the site is still ready to do the repair work, the CBD will be affected and other areas that were mentioned previously.
