COVID-19 INFO
As of today (05 December 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 11,125 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3,031,694 representing a 23.8% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 1 COVID-19 related death has been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89,966 to date.
19,761,834 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 05 DECEMBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 49 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 93 703 people infected with COVID-19.
Frances Baard continues to account for the highest daily infections, today recording 33 new cases, followed by Pixley ka Seme and ZF Mgcawu with 6 cases each, JT Gaetsewe (3) while Namakwa recorded only 1 case in the past 24 hours.
There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported in the Province for the past 72 hours. The total cumulative deaths in the Province stand at 2 403.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 97%, representing a cumulative total of 90 508 people who have recovered from COVID-19. And the number of total active cases stands at 790.
As on 05 Dec, the Province had a total of twenty-six (26) patients currently admitted (due to COVID-19 related complications) in our health care facilities.
