TEMPORARY WATER INTERRUPTION 26-27/05/2025 – Newton Reservoir
UPDATE: 27 May 2025 – 07:30
There is still no official statement as to why there is no water. Based on a call centre report it appears as though there is still a cable fault at Riverton Water Treatment Plant and as a result Newton Reservoir is most likely still off. This will cause all residents receiving water from Newton to have little to no water pressure.
UPDATE: 26 May 2025 – 20:20
RIVERTON WATER TREATMENT PLANT AND NEWTON RESERVOIRS PUMPS SWITCHED-OFF
Current Action: Maintenance team disconnected cables from transformer. Repair and reconnection in progress and will be completed at 22:00.
Cause of Interruption: An electrical cable fault at the Highlift Pump station at Riverton Treatment Plant.
The switching off at the Newton Reservoirs is done in order to avoid draining the dams to unrecoverable levels that might necessitate water shedding or an ongoing interruption of supply.
We regret the inconvenience and trust that residents will bear with us.
