COVID-19 INFO
As of today (16 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 494 119.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 737 330 with 24 486 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 219 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 20, Free State 9, Gauteng 56, Kwa-Zulu Natal 43, Limpopo 29, Mpumalanga 10, Northern Cape 14 and Western Cape 38 which brings the total to 48 313 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 396 951, representing a recovery rate of 93,5%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 16 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 22 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 33 162 people.
In today’s report, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest number of new positive cases (15), followed by Frances Baard and Namakwa both with 3 cases each, JT Gaetsewe (1) while in Pixley ka Seme there are no new positive cases recorded.
Sadly, there are fourteen (14) new COVID-19 related deaths reported, only 2 occurred in the past 72 hours while the rest are from the previous months due to delays in reporting. New deaths are: 12 x Dikgatlong LM, 1 x Sol Plaatje LM and 1 x Unallocated.
The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is now 641.
The number of total active cases in the Province has reduced and currently stand at 3 002.
The Province average recovery rate has increased to 89%, representing a cumulative total of 29 517 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
