As of today (26 Apr 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 576 320.
The number of tests conducted to date is 10 545 817. Of these 14 838 tests were conducted since the last report.
Today, 38 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 5, Free State 5, Gauteng 3, Kwa-Zulu Natal 1, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 17, which brings the total to 54 186 deaths.

The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 501 880, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 26 APRIL 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 139 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total is now standing at 39 393 people. For the third day in a row, the Province reported new cases have been declining which may suggest stabilization after intensified efforts to halt transmission, however, close monitoring continues as it is too early.
Frances Baard continues to record the highest daily cases, in today’s report 73 cases were reported from the district, followed by Pixley ka Seme (22), JT Gaetsewe and Namakwa with 15 cases each, and ZF Mgacwu (14).
There were two (2) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths reported today, from Gamagara LM (1) and Dawid Kruiper LM (1). The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications increased slightly to 884.

There were 106 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 35 135 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
