Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (5 July 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 12,513 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,075,409. This increase represents a 31.6% positivity rate, which is higher than yesterday (30.2%).
As per the National Department of Health, a further 331 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 62,171 to date.
13 489 570 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (60%), followed by WC (10%). Limpopo accounted for 7%; Kwa-Zulu Nata accounted for 6%; North West and Mpumalanga each accounted for 5%; Eastern Cape accounted for 3%; Free State accounted for 2%; and Northern Cape accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 05 JULY 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 160 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. This brings the Province total to 60 333 people.
ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 62; followed by Frances Baard and Namakwa with 34 each, JT Gaetsewe (21) and Pixley ka Seme while 2 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were six (6) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths reported across the Province. The Province total cumulative deaths increased to 1 402.

The number of total active cases decreased to substantially to 5 339 due to improved recovery rate.
Today, 1 423 people were reported to have recovered from the disease, this includes recoveries from previous month due to data verification. The Province average recovery rate stand at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 53 590 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
