💥⚡LOADSHEDDING UPDATE⚡💥

ESKOM will suspend loadshedding between 10:00 and 14:00 today, 18 March 2021, in order to allow the nation to mourn the passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini, thereafter loadshedding stage 2 will continue until 05:00 on Saturday, 20 March 2021.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (17 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 532 497.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 524 854 with 34 419 tests completed since the last report.
Regrettably, we report a further 74 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 15, Gauteng 38, Kwa-Zulu Natal 4, Limpopo 1, Mpumalanga 7, North West 0, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 6, which brings the total to 51 634 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 459 056 representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 17 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 133 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. With today’s cases, the Province passes the 35 000 mark, with the cumulative total standing at 35 098 people.
In today’s report, Namakwa had the highest positive cases (46), followed by Frances Baard (32), Pixley ka Seme (27), JT Gaetsewe (17) and ZF Mgcawu (6), while 5 positive cases are unallocated. Hantam LM, Sol Plaatje and Siyathemba LM continue to record increased daily cases, with 29, 28 and 16, respectively. Altogether they make up 55% of today’s reported new cases.
There were two (2) new COVID-19 related deaths reported today, all from previous months due to delays in reporting. These new deaths comes from Ga-segonyana LM (JT Gaetsewe) and Tsantsabane LM (ZF Mgcawu). The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 791.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 168.
There were 44 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 32 137 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
There were 27 people vaccinated today. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated is currently 4 402 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
