TODAY IS CONFLICT RESOLUTION DAY
Conflict Resolution Day is a global event, intended to promote the concept of peaceful conflict resolution. Created in 2005 by the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), it is now an annual celebration.
Primarily an educational event, the main purpose of Conflict Resolution Day is to increase awareness of the various peaceful, non-violent methods of conflict resolution available, such as mediation and arbitration. In addition, the ACR hopes to promote their use in various different avenues of life, including in schools, workplaces, within the legal system and even amongst families.

As of today (14 Oct 2020), the cumulative number of detected COVID-19 cases is 696 414 with 1 877 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 458 745 with 24 793 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, we report 123 more COVID-19 related deaths: 44 from Eastern Cape, 14 from the Free State, 17 from KwaZulu Natal, 35 from Gauteng, 8 from North West and 5 from Western Cape.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 18 151.
Of the 123 deaths reported today, 10 occurred in the past 24-48 hours: 1 in the Eastern Cape, 1 in the Free State, 1 in Gauteng, 2 from Northern Cape and 5 in the Western Cape.
We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers that treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 626 898 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 14 OCTOBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 118 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 19 382 people.
Yesterday, the Minister announced 5 additional deaths in the Northern Cape; three from Dawid Kruiper Local Municipality and two from Tsantsabane Local Municipality. This brings the total number of deaths in the province due to COVID-19 to 237. We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
There are 13 people to be reallocated to other provinces. The number of recoveries currently stands at 16 479 which translates to a recovery rate of 85%.
