COVID-19 INFO
As of today (05 May 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 588 221.
The number of tests conducted to date is 10 773 227. Of these 33 414 tests were conducted since the last report.
Today 46 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 4, Free State 1, Gauteng 19, Kwa-Zulu Natal 2, Limpopo 18, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 0 which brings the total to 54 557 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients
The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 510 385, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 05 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 290 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total is now standing at 40 887 people. The three (3) previously confirmed cases have been re-allocated back into the Province through ongoing data verification.
Frances Baard recorded the highest daily cases, today reporting 158 cases, followed by Pixley ka Seme (53), ZF Mgcawu (30), JT Gaetsewe (28) and Namakwa with 20 cases while 11 cases are unallocated. In today’s reported cases, 54% of Province new cases occured in the Frances Baard, from Monday up today, the district have reported 285 new cases.
Today there were two (2) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths that occurred in Frances Baard (1) and ZF Mgcawu (1). The Province total cumulative deaths currently stand at 903.

The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 972.
There were 67 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 72 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 36 010 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
