COVID-19 INFO
As of today (6 November 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 358 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 923 751. This increase represents a 1.2% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 24 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89 319 to date.
18 699 684 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng Province (30%), followed by KwaZulu-Natal (18%). Free State accounted for 15%; Western Cape accounted for 11%; Mpumalanga accounted for 10%; Eastern Cape accounted for 6%; North West and Northern Cape accounted for 4% each; and Limpopo accounted for 3% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 06 NOVEMBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 14 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 92 589 people infected with COVID-19.
Pixley ka Seme recorded the highest infections with 5 cases, followed by Namakwa (3), while Frances Baard, ZF Mgcawu and JT Gaetsewe had 2 cases each.
There were no new COVID-19 related death was reported in the Province, which occurred in the last 72 hours. However, ten (10) deaths from the Namakwa district were updated, which occurred in the previous months due to delays in reporting. The total cumulative deaths in the Province now stand at 2 317.

The number of total active cases currently standing at 1 544.
The Province average recovery rate stand at 96%, representing a cumulative total of 88 728 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
