Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

As of today (31 July 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 12 528 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 447 454. This increase represents a 22.3% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 334 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 72 013 to date.
14 862 859 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Western Cape (27%), followed by Gauteng (22%). KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 18%; Mpumalanga accounted for 8%; Eastern Cape accounted for 7%; North West accounted for 6%; with Free State, Limpopo and Northern Cape each accounting for 4% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 31 JULY 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 473 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total stand at 67 494 people infected with COVID-19.
ZF Mgcawu continues to have the highest daily COVID-19 infections in the Province, today the district reported a high of 196, followed by Namakwa (105), Frances Baard (73), Pixley ka Seme (64) and JT Gaetsewe (34) while 1 cases is unallocated.
Today, there were no new deaths related to COVID-19 complications reported across the Province. The Province cumulative total deaths remain at 1 745.

The number of total active cases currently stands at 5327.
There were 217 people reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate remain 90%, representing a cumulative total of 60 420 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
