As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.

💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO

As of today (19 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 535 423.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 584 923 with 28 519 tests completed since the last report.

Today, a further 311 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 21, Gauteng 21, Kwa-Zulu Natal 138, Limpopo 43, Mpumalanga 6, North West 65, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 13, which brings the total to 52 035 deaths.
Some provinces have undertaken data verification processes backdated to December 2020- during this process additional data has been captured and recorded.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.

Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 461 196 representing a recovery rate of 95%.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 19 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 113 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total now stand at 35 325 people. The one (1) previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to the Province has been removed and re-allocated correctly as a result of the ongoing data verification.
In today’s report, Namakwa recorded the highest positive cases (60), followed by Frances Baard (20), ZF Mgcawu (16), Pixley ka Seme (9) and JT Gaetsewe (8). The increase in positive cases is as a result of the intensified contact tracing and with more people being tested in areas where there’s an upsurge.
There were three (3) new COVID-19 related deaths reported today. These deaths are: 1 x Sol Plaatje LM and 2 x Dawid Kruiper LM. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 794.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 368.
There were 11 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 91%, representing a cumulative total of 32 161 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
There were 70 people vaccinated today. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated across the Province is currently 4 556 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
