Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am

Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (12 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 487 681.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 641 447 with 35 718 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 288 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 26, Free State 24, Gauteng 166, KwaZulu Natal 23, Limpopo 4, Mpumalanga 16, Northern Cape 7 and Western Cape 22 which brings the total to 47 670 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 383 626, representing a recovery rate of 93%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 12 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 91 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, this brings the Province cumulative total to 32 952 people. There is one (1) previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to the Province, that has been removed due to ongoing data verification.
In today’s report, Frances Baard recorded the highest number of new positive cases (28), followed by Namakwa and ZF Mgcawu with 20 cases each, JT Gaetsewe (12) and Pixley ka Seme (9) while 2 cases are unallocated.
Sadly, there are seven (7) new COVID-19 related deaths reported, all occurred in the previous months due to delays in reporting. These new deaths are as follows: 1 x Phokwane LM, 5 x Sol Plaatje LM, Frances Baard; 1 x Gasegonyana LM, JT Gaetsewe.
These brings the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications to 620.
The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 584.
The Province average recovery rate is currently 87%, representing a cumulative total of 28 746 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
