Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%,  sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO

As of today (06 August 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 13 652 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 511 178. This increase represents a 21.7% positivity rate.

As per the National Department of Health, a further 479 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 74 352 to date.

15 156 101 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.

The majority of new cases today are from Western Cape (30%), followed by KwaZulu-Natal (20%) Gauteng accounted for 19%; Eastern Cape accounted for 9%; Mpumalanga accounted for 6%; North West accounted for 5%; Free State & Limpopo each accounted for 4% respectively; and Northern Cape accounted for 3% of today’s new cases.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 06 AUG 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 457 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total stand at 69 604 people infected with COVID-19.
Today, Namakwa recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 150 cases, followed by ZF Mgcawu (89), JT Gaetsewe (83), Frances Baard (74) and Pixley ka Seme with 61 cases. Since the start of this week (02 – 06 Aug 2021), ZF Mgcawu and Namakwa registered the highest new infections, accounting for 29% and 27%, respectively, to the Province total new infections in this period.
Today, there were thirteen (13) new deaths related to COVID-19 complications reported across the Province, which occurred in the past 30 days. These deaths are from: ZF Mgcawu (4), Frances Baard (4), JT Gaetsewe (3), Pixley ka Seme (1) and Namakwa (1). The Province cumulative total deaths increases to 1 794.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases currently stands at 5 961.
There were 278 people reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate remain at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 61 847 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
