COVID-19 INFO
As of today (02 Oct 2020), the cumulative number of detected COVID-19 cases is 677 833.
The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 229 709 with 20 660 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, we report 43 more COVID-19 related deaths: 3 from Eastern Cape, 8 from KwaZulu-Natal, 8 from Gauteng, 8 from Western Cape, 7 from Northern Cape and 9 from the Free State.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 16 909.
We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers that treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 611 044 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 02 OCTOBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 234 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 17 121 people.
Regrettably, the Minister announced 7 additional deaths in the Northern Cape: 1 from Kai !Garib Local Municipality, 1 from Nama Khoi Local Municipality, 1 from the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, 1 from Tsantsabane Local Municipality, 1 from Ubuntu Local Municipality, and 2 from Emthanjeni Local Municipality. This brings the total number of deaths in the province due to COVID-19 to 221. We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
There are 8 people to be reallocated to other provinces. The number of recoveries currently stands at 13 977 which translates to a recovery rate of 82%.
