Close approach of the Moon and Venus
The Moon and Venus will make a close approach, passing within 1°11′ of each other. The Moon will be 26 days old.

From Kimberley, the pair will be visible in the dawn sky, rising at 03:07 (SAST) – 3 hours and 8 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 35° above the eastern horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks at around 05:59.
The Moon will be at mag -10.3, and Venus at mag -4.1, both in the constellation Capricornus.
The pair will be too widely separated to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will be visible to the naked eye or through a pair of binoculars.
At around the same time, the two objects will also share the same right ascension – called a conjunction.

KIMBERLEY NIGHTLY WATER SHUTDOWN SHORTENED

Nightly water shutdown shortened from 6pm – 4am to 8pm to 4am.
According  to a statement from Sello Matsie, the Sol Plaatje Municipality Spokesperson, water will be shut off from 8pm and switched back on at 4am as of Monday, 18 February 2019. 

LOADSHEDDING RISK: According to Eskom there is a low risk of #Loadshedding today. Further details will be shared when available from Eskom.
