Current dam levels are increasing, so no Nightly Shutdown is envisaged. Repairs are also being done on major pipe bursts. If anything changes, we will keep all updated.

National Chocolate Candy Day offers an opportunity for us to polish off the last of the specialty candies we received as gifts. Celebrated on December 28th, the day points us to the truffles and chocolate oranges tucked into stockings. Check those boxes of candy that may or may not have guides to help us choose cream-filled or ganache.

COVID-19 INFO

As of today (27 Dec 2020), a cumulative total of 1 004 413 COVID-19 cases have been identified with 9 502 identified since the last report.
A cumulative 6 445 318 tests have been conducted with 29 494 tests completed since the last report.

Regrettably, today we report 214 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 123, Gauteng 17, KwaZulu Natal 13, Northern Cape 5 and Western Cape 56.This brings the total to 26 735 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our recoveries currently stand at 844 874. This represents a recovery rate of 84,1%.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 27 DECEMBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 82 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 24 870 people. Today’s reported new cases are slightly lower compared to yesterday’s (26 December 2020), where 110 new positive cases were reported. There 3 positive cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province which have been removed and re-allocated correctly to other Provinces.
For the third day in succession (i.e. 25 – 27 Dec 2020), Namakwa recorded the highest daily new cases in the Province, today reporting 48; Pixley Ka Seme – 13; ZF Mgcawu – 9; Frances Baard – 6 and JT Gaetsewe at 5 while one case it’s a wrong allocation.
Sadly, today we report five (5) new COVID-19 related deaths, all from Dikgatlong LM, Frances Baard district. With today’s update, the Province cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications increases to 377. The deaths reported here today are as a result of reporting delays from previous months.
The number of recoveries stands at 22 079 with recovery rate of 90%.
