ESKOM: Stage 2 loadshedding will be extended to 05:00 on Wednesday, 17 March 2021, following the loss of further generation capacity and to replenish emergency generation reserves.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (14 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 529 420.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 450 492 with 23 903 tests completed since the last report.
Regrettably, we report a further 65 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 27, Gauteng 12, Kwa-Zulu Natal 20, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 5 which brings the total to 51 326 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 454 290 representing a recovery rate of 95%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 14 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 176 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province has a cumulative total of 34 894 people.
In today’s report, Namakwa had the highest positive cases (124), followed by ZF Mgcawu (27), Namakwa (17), Pixley ka Seme (11), JT Gaetsewe (8) and Frances Baard with 6 cases. About 69% (or 121) of today’s reported cases comes from one sub-district, Hantam LM, as a result of the ongoing localized outbreak currently under investigation. This is highest daily number of new cases the sub-district has ever recorded since the start of the pandemic.
There are no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today from all the five districts. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 781.

The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 052.
There were 41 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 32 059 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
There were 9 people vaccinated today. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated is currently 4 352 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
