Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

Sol Plaatje have stated that Newton Reservoir pumps are turned off nightly until an adequate water level is achieved.

As of today (11 July 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 16 302 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 195 599. This increase represents a 30.4% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 151 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 64 289 to date.
13 901 847 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng, with 52%, followed by the Western Cape with 12%. KwaZulu Natal accounted for 9%, while Limpopo and Mpumalanga both accounted for 7%. North West accounted for 6%, Eastern Cape accounted for 3%, Free State accounted for 2%, and Northern Cape accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 11 JULY 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 204 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. This brings the Province total to 61 806 people.
ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 75, followed by Frances Baard (64), JT Gaetsewe (27), Namakwa (23) and Pixley ka Seme with 12 cases, while 3 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were no deaths reported related to COVID-19 complications. The Province total cumulative deaths remain 1 449.

The number of total active cases currently stand at 5 119.
The Province average recovery rate stand at 90%, representing a cumulative total of 55 236 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
