COVID-19 INFO
As of today (06 May 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 590 370.
The number of tests conducted to date is 10 805 804. Of these 32 577 tests were conducted since the last report.
Today 63 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 6, Free State 21, Gauteng 17, Kwa-Zulu Natal 5, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 3, North West 0, Northern Cape 5 and Western Cape 6 which brings the total to 54 620 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 511 905, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 06 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 292 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total is now standing at 41 166 people. The thirteen (13) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed through ongoing data verification.
Frances Baard continues recording the highest daily cases, today reporting 143 cases, followed by ZF Mgcawu (57), Pixley ka Seme (43), JT Gaetsewe (35) and Namakwa with 13 cases while 2 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were five (5) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths that occurred in the ZF Mgcawu district. These deaths are from the previous month due to delays in reporting. The Province total cumulative deaths increased slightly to 908.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 556.
There were 690 people reported to have recovered from the disease, most of recoveries are from the previous months due to verification processes being undertaken. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 36 700 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
