Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

As of today (2 September 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 9,203 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,796,405. This increase represents a 16.1% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 418 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 82,914 to date.
16,593,467 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal (29%), followed by Western Cape (20%). Eastern Cape accounted for 18%; Free State and Gauteng Province each accounted for 8% respectively; Northern Cape accounted for 6%; Mpumalanga accounted for 5%; North West accounted for 4%; and Limpopo Province accounted for 2% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 02 SEP 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 520 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province has a cumulative total of 82 674 people infected with COVID-19.
ZF Mgcawu continues to report the highest daily COVID-19 infections, with 180 cases reported today; followed by Frances Baard (129), Pixley ka Seme (91), JT Gaetsewe (83) and Namakwa (28) while 9 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were ten (10) newly reported deaths (related to COVID-19 complications) in the Province, occurring in the last 72 hours. The Province total cumulative deaths surpassed the 2000 mark, currently standing at 2 005.

The number of total active cases currently standing at 8 143.
There were 736 people reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate stands at 87%, representing a cumulative total of 72 524 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
