Repairs to the damaged pipes in Waterworks Street have been completed and the Newton Reservoir has been switched on to restore water supply to the city.

UPDATE 2: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – MOST PARTS OF KIMBERLEY
Cause: Another burst pipe in Waterworks Street, near Newton Reservoir.
Repairs to the earlier burst pipe in Waterworks Street have been completed. Unfortunately, another burst has occurred on the 315 mm asbestos pipe.
The Newton Reservoir remains switched off while repair work is underway. The estimated time of completion is 19:30.

Cause: Burst asbestos pipe in Waterworks Street, near Newton Reservoir.
The damaged section has been exposed and cut out. Replacement of the damaged section is currently underway.
The Newton Reservoir remains switched off while repair work is being carried out. The estimated time of completion is 15:30.

ALERT: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – MOST PARTS OF KIMBERLEY
Cause: Burst pipe – Waterworks street, near Newton Reservoir.
The municipality regrets to inform residents that a burst pipe has been reported in Waterworks Street. To enable repairs, the Newton Reservoir had to be switched off. As a result, most parts of Kimberley will experience low water pressure to no water.
Water supply will be restored as soon as the work has been completed.
