Loadshedding was suspended at 05:00 (5am) this morning, 14 October 2021.
Even though Eskom was able to suspend loadshedding, there remains a high risk to the system and loadshedding could again be implemented at short notice.
Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (13 October 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 942 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,913,880. This increase represents a 2.4% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 37 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 88,466 to date.
18,055,424 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Western Cape (23%), followed by Gauteng Province accounting for 18%. KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 15%; Free State accounted for 11%; Eastern Cape and Northern Cape each accounted for 10% respectively; North West accounted for 6%; Mpumalanga accounted for 5%; and Limpopo accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 13 OCTOBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 93 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 91 751 people infected with COVID-19.
In today’s update, Frances Baard and ZF Mgcawu reported the highest infections with 26 and 21, respectively, followed by JT Gaetsewe (19), Pixley ka Seme (14) and Namakwa (13). Today’s reported cases increased slightly compared to the past two days due to improved testing across all districts.
Today, there were no new deaths (related to COVID-19 complications) reported across the Province. The Province total cumulative deaths is standing at 2 228.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases decreased substantially, currently standing at 2 037.
The Province average recovery rate increased to 95%, representing a cumulative total of 87 468 people who have recovered from COVID-19. The reported increase in recoveries is as a result of the data mop-up undertaken by our districts.
