💦 Yesterday Sol Plaatje Municipality announced that there will be nightly water interruptions from 9pm to 5am until further notice. This is due to a pump failure at the Riverton Purification Plant Pump Station. According to Sello Matsie, the Municipal Spokesperson, a motor on one of the Riverton pumps failed on Tuesday. The situation was compounded when the backup pump failed to start. “In order to safeguard the reserves we will continue to supply water as normal during the day and use the evenings to replenish and false raise reserves levels. The time for the supply interruption will be from 9pm until 5am until further notice.”
