Kimberley Water Supply UPDATE – 17 Aug 2023
UPDATE: 17 August 2023 – 18:46
The third high lift pump has been put back in operation, and is pumping through the 600mm.
The pipeline has already resumed at the Riverton Water Treatment Plant. This will assist in the recovery and restoration of acceptable water levels at our Newton Reservoir. We will as a result be cancelling all the previously planned midday water cuts. We will however continue to have nightly water interruptions from 21:00 to 04:00am daily until the levels of the reservoir have reached full operational capacity.
The Municipality wishes to thank the public for their patience and understanding during this time.

UPDATE: 16 August 2023 – 13:50
Due to low reservoir levels, we will close off water supply on the direct take offs, so as to boost levels.
Water supply will be restored this afternoon at 16:00pm and will be switched off this evening at 21:00pm – and restored at 04:00am,.
From tomorrow until levels reach full capacity we will switch off supply daily at 11:00am -16:00pm and again from 21:00pm-04:00am.
This is mainly done to boost capacity supply at the reservoir.
Further communication will follow once we have reached full capacity.
The community’s patience and understanding whilst we are restoring the water levels to operational conditions is highly appreciated.
