As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

TODAY IS WORLD AUTISM DAY
World Autism Awareness Day was established on December 18, 2007 by the United Nations. The General Assembly put together resolution 62/139, which consisted of four major elements. The participation of all UN organization and its member states, a dedication to raising awareness of Autism in the general community, and a standing request to the UN Secretary-General to move forth this message to all it the UN member states.
Autism affects approximately 1 out of every 150 children around the world. It is a neural development disorder that affects their ability to socialize normally by impacting their abilities to utilize verbal and non-verbal communication. Since 2012, there has been a 30% increase in the amount of children being affected with autism, and World Autism Awareness Day helps to bring awareness to this growing health concern.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (01 Apr 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 549 451.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 912 073 with 32 725 tests completed since the last report.
Today, 51 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 0, Gauteng 13, Kwa-Zulu Natal 3, Limpopo 25, Mpumalanga 1, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 6, which brings the total to 52 897 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 474 826, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 01 APRIL 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 93 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total is now standing at 36 348 people. The one previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to the Province has been removed through ongoing data verification.
In today’s report, Frances Baard recorded the highest daily positive cases (30), followed by Pixley ka Seme (21), ZF Mgcawu (17), Namakwa (14) and JT Gaetsewe (9) while 2 cases are unallocated.
There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today from all districts. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is now standing at 824.

The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 670.
There were 6 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 91%, representing a cumulative total of 32 852 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
The vaccination Programme will commence in Pixley ka Seme District after the Easter holidays. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated across the Province is currently standing at 5 494 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
