As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (09 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 522 697.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 9 299 884 with 30 762 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, a further 103 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 2, Free State 28, Gauteng 28, Kwa-Zulu Natal 24, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 6, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 15, which brings the total to 50 906 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 444 282, representing a recovery rate of 94,8%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS At 09 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 28 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province has a cumulative total of 34 407 people.
In today’s report, only Namakwa did not record any new positive case while Frances Baard had the highest positive cases with 22, followed by ZF Mgcawu (4) while JT Gaetsewe and Pixley ka Seme recorded 1 positive case each.
There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 744.

The number of total active cases in the Province is standing at 2 056.
There were 26 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 31 631 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
Today we vaccinated 71 people in the province. This brings the total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated to 4153 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
