Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (08 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 477 511.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 511 410 with 15 599 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 183 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 27, Free State 24, Gauteng 45, Kwa-Zulu Natal 12, Limpopo 3, Mpumalanga 21, North West 19, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 30.
This brings the total to 46 473 deaths
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 363 947, representing a recovery rate of 92%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 08 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 32 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, this brings the Province cumulative total to 32 658 people.
Today the following changes have been effected due to ongoing data verification: 3 previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed and allocated to the correct Provinces; and 1 previously confirmed case has been re-allocated back into the Province, in Gamagara LM, JT Gaetsewe district.
In today’s report, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest number of new positive cases (14), followed by Namakwa (11), JT Gaetsewe (5) and Frances Baard with 2 while in Pixley Ka Seme there are no new cases reported.
Sadly, today we report two (2) new COVID-19 related death that occurred in the past 72 hours: 1 x Sol Plaatje LM, Frances Baard and 1 x Unallocated. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications stands at 602.
The number of total active cases in the Province stands currently remains 3 625.
The Province average recovery rate is curently 87%, representing a cumulative total of 28 429 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
