The Kimberley Tram is still not operational due to the incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon. The Sol Plaatje Electricity Department has indicated that the Tram electrical line needs to be straightened and this is expected to take another two days.
The Traffic Department is assisting with closure of Tucker Road to enable the needed repairs.
Original information via Sharon Steyn of NOCCI: “Kindly note that the Tram will not be operational today and tomorrow due to incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon. The Electricity department has indicated that the Tram electrical line needs to be straightened up and this might take whole 2 days. Traffic department has already been engaged to assist with closure of Tucker Road so that the electricians can be able to fix the line without any interruption. Please note that the tram operation will only resume on Friday (26th August 2016), Kindly assist by letting others know.”
