- A total of 1 664 subject distinctions were obtained throughout the Province and the school with the most subject distinctions was Diamantveld with 216, Northern Cape High School with 194 and Kimberley Girls’ High School with 155.
- The Matric pass rate in the Northern Cape has dropped to a dismal 58 percent, with only 7 932 of the 13 658 matrics in the Northern Cape, who wrote the National Senior Certificate Examination in 2016, passing.
