Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

As of today (04 August 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 13 263 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 484 009 This increase represents a 22.3% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 423 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 73 415 to date.
15 031 457 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Western Cape (27%), followed by Gauteng (22%). KwaZulu-Natal accounted for (18%); Eastern Cape accounted for 8%; Mpumalanga accounted for 7%; North West accounted for 6%; Free State and Limpopo accounted for 4% each; and Northern Cape accounted for 3% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 04 AUG 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 342 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total stand at 68 582 people infected with COVID-19. The four (4) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed as a result of the ongoing data verification.
Today, Frances Baard recorded the highest daily COVID-19 infections with 93 cases, followed by ZF Mgcawu (89), Pixley ka Seme (74), JT Gaetsewe (52) and Namakwa (29) while 5 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were no new deaths related to COVID-19 complications reported across the Province. The Province cumulative total deaths remain at 1 777.

The number of total active cases currently stands at 5 630.
There were 68 people reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate remain at 89%, representing a cumulative total of 61 173 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
