Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

TODAY IS PEANUT BUTTER DAY
Who doesn’t love peanut butter? So let’s celebrate Peanut Butter Day. This auspicious occasion was created many years ago, to allow peanut butter lovers to celebrate the creation of this wonderful food.
Peanut butter can be eaten and used in many different recipes. I see nothing wrong in sitting down and indulging in a jar of the creamy or crunchy delight with a spoon. What more do you need?
Families and friends can celebrate Peanut Butter Day by getting together and creating delicious recipes containing peanut butter, from cookies and cakes to sautes and sauces. These can of course be consumed at home, or some prefer to make a day of it and go on a picnic style outing. There are many individuals that eat nothing but peanut butter on Peanut Butter Day.
There are even schools that will only serve peanut butter sandwiches to their students on this festive day. What better sandwich is there in the world?

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (23 Jan 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified on South Africa is 1 404 839 with 12 271 cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 7 947 007 with 64 143 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, 498 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 45, Free State 17, Gauteng 201, Kwa-Zulu Natal 125, Limpopo 19, Mpumalanga 18, Northern Cape 2 and Western Cape 71 which brings the total to 40 574 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated these patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 217 492 , representing a recovery rate of 86,6%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 23 JANUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 219 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 30 788 people.
In today’s report, Namakwa recorded the highest number of positive cases (60), followed by ZF Mgcawu (59), Frances Baard (44), Pixley ka Seme (31) and JT Gaetsewe (24) while 1 case is unallocated.
Sadly, we report two (2) additional COVID-19 related deaths, that occurred in the past 72 hours. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 544.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases stands at 4 406 in the Province.
The number of recoveries increased to 25 836 with the recovery rate of 84%.
