💥⚡LOADSHEDDING UPDATE⚡💥

ESKOM: Stage 2 loadshedding active until 23:00 on Friday (12 Mar 2021) following the loss of generation capacity and to replenish emergency generation reserves.
2️⃣ On Stage 2 loadshedding two hour long rolling blackouts are introduced according to the Stage 2 Schedule.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (11 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 525 648.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 9 369 594 with 33 493 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, a further 95 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 5, Free State 21, Gauteng 25, Kwa-Zulu Natal 6, Limpopo 10, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 17 and Western Cape 11 which brings the total to 51 110 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 447 503, representing a recovery rate of 94,8%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 11 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 82 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province has a cumulative total of 34 565 people.
In today’s report, Namakwa had the highest positive cases (37), followed by Frances Baard (15), JT Gaetsewe and ZF Mgcawu with 13 cases each and Pixley ka Seme (3) while 1 positive case is unallocated.
There are seventeen (17) new COVID-19 related deaths reported today, 2 occurred in the past 72 hours while the rest are from previous months due to delays in reporting. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 769.

The number of total active cases in the Province is standing at 2 095.
There were 19 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 31 699 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
Today we vaccinated 49 people in the province. This brings the total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated to 4 284 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
