Update 22:00 – Load-shedding has come to and end for today.
Update: 18:02 – Rolling blackouts are continuing in Kimberley. Hadison park area just went off as per the schedule. Southridge area from 20:00 to 22:00 is the last area on the schedule for today.
Some residents from Carters Glen are reporting that they were not off from 14:00-16:00 as per the schedule but went off at 18:00 with the Hadison Park area.
Some residents from parts of New Park are reporting that they did not go off with the Hadison Park area at 18:00.
UPDATE 11:45 – Eskom “System Update: Stage 2 load shedding will continue until 10pm this evening due to machines not returning to service as expected”
Update 11:00 – Updates are coming in from residents reporting blackouts as per the schedule.
Update: 08:50 – Eskom’s load-shedding status IS BEING ESCALATED TO STAGE 2 FROM 09:00 this morning. There is a A VERY HIGH PROBABILITY that rolling blackouts may be introduced today.
Sol Plaatje is currently still operating on stage 1 load-shedding, with only geysers being shed. This can be escalated to Stage 2 at any time today with little or no prior warning.

Eskom declared country wide Stage 1 loadshedding from 8:00 to 12:00 noon today.
Please use electricity sparingly and save where ever possible to avoid an escalation to Stage 2 Loadshedding which will lead to rolling blackouts.
“Eskom has commenced load shedding in stage 1 @ 08:00 until 12 noon today. The units we took out over the weekend have not returned.”
“We would like to appeal to customers to reduce their electricity usage as much as they can, as it will ease the pressure on the system”
