Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (10 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 482 412.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 573 464 with 35 195 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 276 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 33, Free State 20, Gauteng 126, KwaZulu Natal 34, Limpopo 3, Mpumalanga 21, Northern Cape 8 and Western Cape 31 which brings the total to 47 145 deaths
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 367 247, representing a recovery rate of 92,7%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 10 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 88 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, this brings the Province cumulative total to 32 772 people.
In today’s report, Namakwa recorded the highest number of new positive cases (28), followed by Frances Baard (20), ZF Mgcawu (17), Pixley ka Seme (11) and JT Gaetsewe (8) while 4 cases are unallocated.
Sadly, today we report eight (8) new COVID-19 related deaths, with 2 occurring in the past 72 hours while the rest are from the previous months due to delays in reporting. The new deaths are as follows: 1 x Sol Plaatje LM (Frances Baard); 1 x Gamagara LM, 6 x Gasegonyana LM (JT Gaetsewe). The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications stands at 613.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province currently remains 3 654.
The Province average recovery rate is curently 87%, representing a cumulative total of 28 503 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
