COVID-19 INFO
As of today (26 May 2021), the cumulative number of cases reported in South Africa is 1 645 555 with 4 623 new cases reported over the past 24 hours.
The number of tests conducted to date is 11 452 185. Of these 45 877 tests were conducted since the last report.
Today, 102 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 4, Free State 6, Gauteng 24, Kwa-Zulu Natal 4, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 4, North West 45, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 9 which brings the total to 56 077 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 546 583 representing a recovery rate of 94,0%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 26 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 432 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. This brings the total cumulative to 48 616 people in the Province. Today, two (2) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed as a result of the ongoing data verifation.
In today’s update, Frances Baard recorded the highest COVID-19 infections (213), followed by ZF Mgcawu (110), Pixley ka Seme (37), Namakwa (36) and JT Gaetsewe (32) while 4 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were no newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths reported. The Province total cumulative deaths remain 1 046.

The number of total active cases is currently standing at 7 371.
There were 1 099 people reported to have recovered from the disease, including recoveries from previous months due to delays in reporting and as a result of the ongoing data cleaning process aimed at addressing backlogs. The Province average recovery rate stand at 83%, representing a cumulative total of 40 197 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
